Research and open-source tools for public education

Appendix C: Invitation to Researchers

Appendix C: Invitation to Researchers

Access to the research database and PIR archive.

This capstone was built on a research stack that includes 83 cited sources, hundreds of thousands of rows of public education data, and more than 700 Public Information Request response files spanning 18 Texas school districts, charter networks, and the Texas Education Agency. The underlying database and the PIR archive are maintained alongside this blog to support continued research, journalism, advocacy, and litigation on Texas school finance and charter policy.

Researchers, journalists, policy analysts, and advocates are invited to request read-only access to the research database, guidance on replicating the regression and equity analyses, or copies of additional materials not suitable for public posting (such as un-redacted PIR exhibits where privacy review is required). Turnaround is usually a few days.

Government records and the researcher's own analyses are hosted directly; copyrighted journal articles, commercial news reports, and similar material are linked in the References appendix rather than mirrored. The PIR archive is browsable at /blog/sources/pirs.
